Heroes Unmasked Fall Festival

Nancy, this is for you! OK everyone, so I'm doing things a little out of order, but here we are for our church's Fall Festival we have on Halloween night. Nolan was Tigger and had lots of fun playing in the preschool games. Mark and I had fun working the "parting the sea with Moses" where 2 kids would each have a broom and try to sweep balls on the other side of the big box they were standing in. When we gave out candy we would say "Moses parted the sea. Moses loved God and God loves you!"

Numbers (aka Puppies)

Nolan has started repeating numbers to me today and it's so cute because he says five and nine like a Texan (fahv, nahn). I'm not sure where he gets that from! Mimi? Teacher Jonna?? Whenever Nolan sees numbers on anything he yells "puppies!" because he has a numbers book that counts puppies and kittens. He's been doing that for a while but today he started actually saying the numbers (except seven but we'll work on that ;)

Kids Choir Performs

Our Kids Choir performed this morning in church service and they were awesome! I help with the 1st - 3rd graders and I was so proud of them. There is not a better sound than children praising the Lord in song! Way to go kids! I know they really ministered to those who were visiting and don't know the Lord.....

Romantic Mark

Mark has been so busy as he always is this time of year producing our church's Christmas concert and very sweetly allowed me to go off yesterday for some girl time with a friend in the afternoon window shopping and out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. He even made dinner for me the night before! Thank you my romantic husband for some much needed relaxation. P.S. Thank you Mike and Daniel for fixing our van with a new battery while Mark was at home with Nolan. We know you are so very busy and it was so kind of you - God bless you!

Gobble Gobble continued

Nolan had a great day at school today; they made fun turkey hats! I couldn't get him to put it on until I turned on our Roomba robot vacuum cleaner which he loves so much he thinks it's our pet! Needless to say he was distracted enough to not even realize he had the silly thing on his head.

Pumpkin Patch (in October)

Mommy and Daddy took Nolan to his first pumpkin patch and although it was beautiful and really kid friendly, he mainly couldn't be bothered with all the cutesy stuff. He just wanted to run around the pumpkins and "find" them, each one so exciting! We took a hayride and we loved that too.

Ick Sick

Our little family has been hit hard and frequent of late with various illnesses. It seemed to start with the stomach bug a few weeks ago with Nolan having a mild case, Mommy having a severe case, and Daddy with a medium case. Is there a nursery rhyme about this?? Mommy and Daddy were sick at the same time which was really fun. Thanks to Pa for driving out to bring Mommy to the doctor for a Phenergan shot and to Kayla & Wanda for watching Nolan in the afternoon/evening until Nolan could come home to bed..... Then Nolan had the croup last week which is a viral infection with a seal bark cough which was mild yet scary for a couple of nights! That was followed by Mommy getting hit hard with what started as a viral infection with fever followed by sinusitis (Praise God for antibiotics!). Then Nolan got sicker the same day that was diagnosed and found out yesterday his virus turned into an ear infection (Did I say, praise God for antibiotics!!). Now Daddy has a cold. Whew! We're all on the mend but if you would please pray for us to break out of this cycle of illnesses so we may not be distracted from our callings. Thank you and much love, Emy

Nolan's First Day at Preschool

This was Nolan's first day of school at Kids Day Out at our church. He loves preschool! He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and has a blast learning about Jesus and colors, shapes, songs as well as socializing with others and learning to follow directions well (other than Mom and Dad)! Check out his really cool cowboy backpack that Grandma Storms bought him during their trip out visiting at the stockyards.

Below is the fair (I can't remember the name!) we went to with the Storms and Spaeth families in Pennsylvania. We had so much fun pigging out on good food, visiting lots of animals and doing some shopping. It was August but in the 50s! Brrrr cold. Cousin Kim came along with Nolan, Emy, Mark, Grandma & Grandpa Storms, and Grandma and Grandpa Spaeth. Nolan had a blast!
