Labwork update
Good news - my thyroid function is perfectly fine so I won't have to see an endocrinologist - whew! I'm feeling well other than the fast heart rate at times and some nausea and tiredness (the usual in pregnancy, right??). My belly grows and Nolan loves to talk to my tummy.... he talks to the "baby" and I talk back on behalf of the baby and Nolan just goes right along in the conversation; it's so cute!

OB appointment today
Today was another MD appointment and first we had the sonogram which was fun watching the very active baby rolling and squirming and ultimately not cooperating with any good looks as to whether s/he is a boy or a girl...... My measurement is still very good; not budging a millimeter which is a big praise!
Then we saw my OB and discovered I have a continuing urinary tract infection (UTI) so I'm going back on antibiotics and will stay on a pill a day after that to prevent them. I had recurrent UTIs when I was pregnant with Nolan and they are really not good because they cause cramping and contractions. So we pray that we can keep these infections at bay. Also, my resting heart rate has been very rapid over the past couple of weeks, even interfering with sleep at times and although a rapid heart rate is common in pregnancy, so are thyroid problems so we drew blood to check that out. On the other hand, I was a little excited to find out my OB's philosophy on c-sections. I had a c-section with Nolan only because he was breech (upside down or actually head up), not for any other complication. She said she was trained the "old school" way to deliver what's best after a c-section, meaning that I may very well not have a c-section this time if all is ok with baby and positioning, etc. She said she will leave that decision up to us as long as all is well but we won't know that until close to the baby coming. I don't have to go back for 2 weeks because my cervix is looking good! Thank you so much for your prayers!

Nolan with Meema and Pa Pa Dude
Mark Helpin' his Daddy
When Mark's parents were here in April, Mark and his dad got busy rebuilding our back fence that blew down partially from a wind storm. Mark's dad used to own a fence company so they were in their glory doing this together. We had a number of folks stop and ask questions because they put in steel posts covered with wood so it would look really nice and although in the northeast that's done all the time, it's not done here so people were really curious and wanted to know who they could call to have theirs done! I guess if Mark ever needs to moonlight....

OB Visit Today
Oh, the baby is growing so well! S/he was jumping in the womb and we got to see it! Nolan thinks it's so cool that the baby can do that... my measurements still look really good; so good in fact that the doctor wants me to come back in two weeks instead of one week (as long as I promised to be a good girl with limited activity - sure!!) Thank you so much for your prayers!! Thank you also to my mom who started helping here at home with Nolan last week... she says that although it's a lot of work, she's so glad to do it and spend lots of time with him. We so much appreciate the meals a couple of days a week we are getting from friends and church family so that she can get a little break from one of the chores - thanks everyone!
p.s. lots of folks ask what my limitations are. My OB doesn't want me to walk or stand much so I should be sitting or reclining as much as I can..... no grocery or any other kind of shopping, no cooking meals other than fixing a quick sandwich. She did say I can drive for now so that's good as long as I drive to go sit somewhere! Things are going so much easier this time than when I was pregnant with Nolan so far - please keep up the prayers!!! God is so good.

Surgery Update
I had my cervical cerclage (stitch) put in yesterday and although I had some nausea during the spinal block and later in the night along with some pain, it overall was successful and went much better than last time when I was pregnant with Nolan. Thank you so much for your prayers! God is taking care of this little baby and my body in amazing ways!
